We accept a small number of custom commissions each year. Each piece is designed in conversation with you — your story, your symbol, your scale — and forged in sterling silver or 14k gold from our Truckee workshop.

What we forge on commission.

  • Rings

    Signet, ritual, ancestral. With or without stone. Engraved or smooth.

  • Amulets

    Pendants, talismans, protection pieces. Cosmologic symbols translated into metal.

  • Piercing tops

    Threadless ends, gem settings, custom barbells in implant-grade titanium with gold or silver detail.

  • Hangers

    Sculptural pendants weighted for stretched lobes. One-of-a-kind.

  • Ear weights

    From 4g down to 30mm — calibrated for safe wear, balanced for the body.

Stones, wood, meteorite and other ritual materials may be added on request. We discuss material costs transparently in the quote stage.

Process

How a commission moves.

From first inquiry to delivered piece — usually six months. We do not rush a commission. The wait is part of what gives the piece weight.

    Inquiry

    Day 0

    You write to us: zone, idea, references, intention. We respond within 5 business days with a yes or no — we accept a limited number of commissions per quarter.

  2. 02

    Concept call

    Weeks 1–2

    Video or email exchange. We align on symbolism, materials, scale, body zone and timing. No charge at this stage.

  3. 03

    Sketch & quote

    Weeks 3–5

    We send 1–2 hand sketches and a formal written quote with material breakdown. You approve, ask for revisions, or step away — no obligation.

  4. 04

    50% deposit

    Week 6

    On approval, a 50% non-refundable deposit reserves your slot in the queue and confirms the commission. Production starts after deposit clears.

  5. 05

    Forging

    Months 2–5

    We forge, file, set, polish. You receive 2–3 progress images during this period. Total studio time: 6 months from inquiry.

  6. 06

    Final balance & delivery

    Month 6

    Final 50% balance due before shipping. We ship insured (USPS Priority within US, DHL international) or hand-deliver in Truckee.

Every piece starts as a drawing.

Before the forge, before the stone, there is a planimetry — front view, section, dimensions in millimetres. Wenu Mapu grew out of years of industrial-design work: the same technical eye that draws a stretched-ear piece to scale draws your commission. These are real plates from the Tranalu Üñekai studies and the 2019 catalogue.

Pay across the journey, not all at once.

A commission is a slow piece — 6 months from brief to delivery. Payment follows the work, in four moments. Each installment unlocks the next phase of the forging. No interest, no fees, no third-party financing.

Brief signed

Initial deposit. Locks the slot, covers material sourcing, design sketch, and the first conversations.

Month 2
30%

Forge begins

Design approved. Materials sourced (meteorite, vacamuerta wood, gold/silver). Photos and short video of the piece taking shape.

Month 4
30%

Polishing & finishing

Final pulido, hand-finishing, oxidation if required. WIP photo. The piece is almost itself.

Month 6
10%

Delivery

Final fit (in-person if local, video call otherwise). Piece ships with certificate of authenticity and lifetime workshop repair on manufacturing defects.

Terms

What you should know.

  • Lead time 6 months from accepted inquiry to delivery. Plan accordingly.
  • Deposit 50% non-refundable on commission confirmation. The remaining 50% is due before shipping.
  • Revisions Two rounds of sketch revision included in quote. Further revisions billed hourly.
  • Cancellation After deposit, you may cancel; deposit is forfeit and covers materials and design time. Before deposit, no cost to you.
  • Materials Sterling Silver 925 and Gold 14k for the metalwork. Stones, wood, meteorite or specialty inclusions are quoted separately.
  • Shipping & duties Shipping insured at quoted cost. International duties are buyer's responsibility.
  • Warranty All commissions covered by lifetime workshop repair on manufacturing defects. Wear-and-tear is not covered.
